Holiday hours templates for your website, Google and Instagram
Holiday hours text for three places at once: the notice bar on your website, a Google Business Profile post and an Instagram caption. Eight occasions, three versions each.
Holiday hours need to say the same thing in three places: your website, your Google listing and your social feed. When one of them is wrong, a family drives over to a locked door. Each occasion below comes in three versions, each written to fit where it goes.
Post them about a week ahead. The website notice is one line for the bar across the top of your site; take it down the day after. A Google post does not change the hours Google shows, so set special hours in your Business Profile as well. The Instagram caption works on a post or a story.
Brandyland nudges each location before every holiday to set its hours, and its notice bar takes itself down after its end date.

Questions
Questions people ask
How far ahead should we post holiday hours?
About a week before, and again the day before for the big ones. Set special hours in Google at the same time, so the listing, the post and the website all agree.
Does a Google post change our hours on Google?
No. A post is an update people can read, but the hours Google shows come from your Business Profile. Add special hours for each holiday there, or Google may show your regular hours on a day you are closed.
When should the website notice come down?
The day after the holiday. An old notice makes people wonder what else on the site is out of date.
What if we are open on the holiday?
Say so plainly and give the hours. Replace "Closed" with your hours in each block, and keep the line about when regular hours return.
