Comparison
Brandyland vs Wix or Squarespace for each franchise location
Letting each location run its own Wix or Squarespace site is quick and inexpensive to start. The trade-offs show up later, across the network, rather than at any single location.

The short answer
Good for one business. Harder to run as a network.
Wix and Squarespace are good tools for a single independent business, and an owner can have a good-looking site up quickly. The difficulty is the network. Each location has its own account, its own template choices and its own login, and corporate has no single place to set the brand, publish a shared page or see which sites are out of date. Brandyland keeps the part that works, an owner editing their own site, and puts every location on one engine in the brand's theme.
| A Wix or Squarespace account per location | Brandyland | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Each owner builds from a template | Built on one engine in the brand's theme, free for networks |
| How it's priced | A subscription per location, plus any add-ons | $99 or $199 per location per month |
| Brand control | Each account set up separately | Theme, fonts and colors set and locked by corporate |
| Shared pages | Pasted into each site by hand | Published to every location at once, sections locked or open |
| Franchisee edits | Anything, in their own account | Hours, schedule, events, notices, photos and their own pages, from a phone |
| Holidays and closures | Updated by hand, and removed by hand | Holiday nudges, and notices that end on their date |
| Inquiries | Form apps set up site by site | On-brand reply within sixty seconds, follow-ups, a leads inbox per location |
| Network view | One site at a time | Network health dashboard, worst first |
| Design freedom | Wide open | Inside the brand's theme |
Why locations reach for a website builder
The appeal is easy to see. The owner can start today, pick a template, add photos and change the hours whenever they like. There is no request to send and no one to wait for.
For a single independent business, that is often the right answer. A franchise location is different: the owner is building one piece of a larger brand, and the builder has no way of knowing that.
Forty accounts, forty versions of the brand
Picture a 40-location network where each location runs its own builder account. Each owner picks fonts, colors and a template, or starts from a kit corporate sent a while ago. Over time the sites drift: a stretched logo, an older photo, a service name that no longer matches.
Fixing that from one place is hard. Changing a shared page, such as a new program description, means asking 40 owners to paste it in, then checking later that they did.
In Brandyland, corporate sets the theme, fonts and colors once and can lock them. Shared pages publish to every location at once, with sections locked or left open. Franchisees still edit their hours, schedule, events, photos and their own pages, inside those rules.
Who can see the whole network
With separate accounts, the way to know whether every site shows the right holiday hours is to open every site. Logins live with owners, and when a location changes hands, the login can leave with them.
Brandyland gives corporate a network health dashboard: stale hours, holidays not set and leads waiting, worst first. Cookie-free analytics show visits and inquiries for each location, and Insights adds benchmarking across locations.
What a location site needs, from day one
Builders offer pages, forms and large app catalogs. The franchise-specific pieces are left to each owner to find and set up, one location at a time. In Brandyland, every location has these from the start:
- A weekly schedule of named sessions, such as open play, classes or drop-off windows
- A notice bar with an end date that takes itself down
- A nudge before each holiday to set the hours
- An on-brand reply to every inquiry within sixty seconds, and follow-ups that stop when a person answers
- An opening-soon page for a location that has not opened, replaced by the full site on opening day
- A place on the brand site's find-a-location page
Cost, counted across the network
A builder is a subscription per location, often with add-ons for forms, scheduling or email. The larger cost is usually time: the owner's time building and keeping the site, and corporate's time checking on it.
Brandyland is $99 per location per month for Local, which includes Google Business Profile sync and review requests, or $199 for Insights. For franchise networks, the build and migration of existing sites are free. There is a $299 one-time launch fee per location, waived for pilot networks. The first term is 12 months, then month to month.
Bookings stay on each location's existing system either way, such as Roller, Zenoti or Gingr. Brandyland links to it, or shows it on a Book page where the system allows.
Stay on Wix or Squarespace if
- You run a single independent business, not a franchise location
- Your locations are independent enough that the brand does not need to match
- You want to design every page freely, with no shared structure
- You want an online store built into the site itself
Choose Brandyland if
- You have several locations that should look like one brand
- Corporate needs to lock the brand and publish shared pages to every location
- You want stale hours and waiting leads across the network on one screen
- Franchisees should keep editing from a phone, without building a site themselves
Questions
Questions people ask
Is Wix good for franchise locations?
For a single location, it can be. In a network, each location's site lives in its own account, so locking the brand, publishing a shared page and checking which sites are out of date all happen one account at a time.
Can our franchisees still edit their own sites with Brandyland?
Yes, from a phone. They change regular hours, today's hours, holidays, the weekly schedule, events, the notice bar, photos and their own pages. Corporate's theme and locked sections stay put.
We already have locations on Squarespace. What happens to those sites?
For franchise networks, Brandyland builds the network and migrates the existing sites for free. Each location's content moves onto the shared engine, in the brand's theme.
What does Brandyland cost compared with a website builder?
A builder is a subscription per location, plus the owner's time. Brandyland is $99 per location per month for Local or $199 for Insights, and annual billing gets two months free. Build and migration are free for franchise networks.
Do we lose our sites if we leave Brandyland?
No. Every site's content and images export with one click, any time, with no exit fee. After the first 12 months, it is month to month.
